Terms & Conditions

terms & conditions

  • A £150 non-refundable booking fee is required upfront to secure your date. Please note that this fee covers administrative costs and any work carried out up to one month before your wedding day. For orders totalling over £2,000 a 50% non-refundable booking fee is required.
  • The outstanding payment is then due no later than one month before your wedding day.
  • Cancellations made within one month of your wedding day are non-refundable.
  • Where appropriate you agree to meet the minimum spend as outlined.
  • Any changes to the cake order (e.g. reduction in portion numbers) are subject to a minimum spend of 90% of the final quote.
  • All flavours, design details and on-the-day logistics/timings are to be confirmed no later than one month before you wedding day. Any changes after this time may be subject to surcharges. It is your responsibility to provide accurate information on any supplier/venue/parking/contact details requested.
  • Please be aware that Little Bear Cakery cake products are made using milk, eggs, gluten, nuts, soya, sulphites and alcohol. Any dietary requirements can be catered for if discussed at the time of booking. Please be sure to inform us of such requirements at the time of booking. Please note however that Little Bear Cakery is not a “free from” bakery and so allergens are handled on the premises. We therefore cannot eliminate the risk of traces of allergens. By signing the contract, you acknowledge this risk.
  • Little Bear Cakery cannot guarantee that the fruit used to make our jams and marmalades is 100% stone-free, as pips and stones can be missed in rare circumstances in the manufacturing process.
  • Little Bear Cakery cannot be held responsible for any damage to the cake after it has been delivered and set-up at the venue.
  • All Little Bear Cakery cakes need to be kept at a cool room temperature (below 22°C) and away from direct sunlight. It is your responsibility to ensure that your venue can provide a cool enough environment for your cake during the hot summer months.
  • During extreme weather, it may on occasion be necessary to adapt recipes in order to cope with the heat. On such occasions, the recipes used may differ slightly from your tastings.
  • If you choose to collect your cake, Little Bear Cakery cannot be held responsible for any damage to the cake once it has been collected.
  • Any fresh/dried/faux flowers are placed on the cake at your own risk. It is your responsibility to ensure that they are suitable for purpose. Little Bear Cakery holds no responsibility for any adverse reactions as a result of fresh flowers being used on the cake. It is strongly recommended that the flowers are at a minimum non-toxic and pesticide free. Please ask if you require further info on this. However, Little Bear Cakery’s recommendation is to use handcrafted sugar flowers which are made from food-safe materials.
  • If you choose to use your own cake stand, Little Bear Cakery cannot be held responsible for any damage sustained to the cake if the stand is not suitable to withstand the weight of the cake. Little Bear Cakery offers a range of professional stands for hire that are designed specifically for supporting heavy tiered wedding cakes.
  • If you choose to use your own cake topper, Little Bear Cakery cannot be held responsible for any damage sustained to the cake by the topper. Please inform Little Bear Cakery of the details and dimensions of the topper well in advance of the wedding day to ensure suitability. It is your responsibility to ensure that the topper is food-safe.
  • Little Bear Cakery will use all reasonable efforts to deliver the cake on time but cannot be responsible for delays due to matters outside our control (such as extreme traffic/adverse weather).
  • The possibility also exists that we may be unable to deliver your cake due to adverse or freak weather conditions such as snow or floods and that these conditions may make your venue inaccessible. We strongly recommend that you purchase wedding insurance to cover yourselves for this eventuality.
  • By paying your booking fee you are confirming acceptance of the terms and conditions outlined in this document. However, please also complete and return the booking form at your earliest convenience (and no later than one week after your booking fee payment has been made.)
  • If you have any questions regarding the contract, please contact Little Bear Cakery at info@littlebearcakery.com prior to signing.
