The Proof of the Pudding is in the Eating!

I am a firm believer that cake should taste as good as it looks! That is why I offer an extensive menu with flavours to cater to a range of tastes. All of my flavours have been tried and tested over the years and have become firm favourites with my wedding clients.

Tastings of are available at various intervals throughout the year. Get in touch to find out when the next available tastings will be. You can try up to 4 flavours from the menu in a standard box. Additional flavours are available for an extra charge. Tasting boxes can either be collected from the studio in South East London (SE12) or couriered during cooler weather.

“Classic Victoria”

Vanilla bean sponge soaked with vanilla bean syrup and layered with Morello cherry preserve and vanilla bean buttercream

“Luscious Lemon”

Zesty lemon sponge soaked with Limoncello* syrup and layered with lemon curd and a light vanilla bean buttercream

“Cherry Bakewell”

Almond and vanilla bean sponge soaked with Amaretto* syrup and layered with Morello cherry preserve and vanilla bean buttercream

“Belgian Chocolate”

A dark Belgian chocolate sponge layered with Belgian chocolate ganache buttercream

“London Porter”

A soft and squidgy Porter* cake layered with silky Swiss meringue buttercream with a hint of praline

“Spiced Jaffa”

A zesty orange sponge sandwiched between two layers of dark Belgian chocolate orange sponge soaked with an orange and Cointreau* syrup and layered with homemade bitter Seville orange marmalade and Belgian chocolate ganache buttercream with a hint of cardamom

“Perfumed Pistachio & Rose”

A pistachio sponge soaked with vanilla bean syrup and layered with Fortnum & Mason’s award winning rose petal jelly and cardamom buttercream

“Banana Choc Chip”

A moist banana sponge flecked with dark Belgian chocolate chips and layered with vanilla bean buttercream

“Zesty Carrot”

A moist carrot cake enriched with orange zest and juicy rum* soaked sultanas, and layered with vanilla bean buttercream

“Whisky Ginger”

A dark Jamaican gingerbread, heavily spiced and sandwiched with Bourbon* laced sticky ginger sauce and vanilla bean buttercream

“Lavender & Wild Blueberry”

A light lavender infused sponge soaked with vanilla bean syrup and layered with vanilla bean buttercream and wild blueberry preserve

“Double Espresso”

A dense espresso chocolate mud cake filled with silky Swiss meringue buttercream and blitzed chocolate covered coffee beans

“Salted Caramel”

A Belgian chocolate sponge filled with vanilla bean salted caramel Swiss meringue buttercream and a layer of salted caramel

“Red Velvet”

A light and fluffy red vanilla bean sponge with a hint of cocoa, layered with vanilla bean buttercream

“Prosecco & Strawberry”

A light fluffy vanilla and Prosecco* infused sponge soaked with Prosecco* syrup and layered with vanilla bean Swiss meringue buttercream and strawberry preserve

“Traditional Rich Fruit Cake”

An 8 week matured rich fruit cake packed full of sultanas, currants, figs, cranberries, apricots, cherries, ginger and toasted nuts (optional) all soaked in lashings of brandy*

Please be aware that Little Bear Cakery cake products are made using milk, eggs, gluten, nuts, soya, sulphites and alcohol. Any dietary requirements can be catered for if discussed at the time of booking. Please be sure to inform Clare of such requirements at the time of booking. Please note however that Little Bear Cakery is not a “free from” bakery and so allergens are handled on the premises. We therefore cannot eliminate the risk of traces of allergens.

The moment we found Clare’s work we knew she was the one!…her absolute professionalism, timeliness, attention to detail and passion for her craft. Her sugar flower creations are pure beauty. They take your breath away. Our wedding cake was three (huge!) tiers of her Luscious Lemon cake, “zesty lemon sponge soaked with limoncello (one tier alcohol free), lemon curd and light vanilla buttercream”. Topped with the most beautiful handcrafted sugar peonies, blackberries, Italian ruscus foliage and hydrangea flowers. Our guests were even betting on whether the flowers were real or not.
The cake was an absolute delight, with the tastiest, softest, delicately flavoured sponge ever, a masterpiece.”
