Having frequented the kitchen from an early age, pursuing a career in food was a natural progression for Clare. A chef trained in Professional Cookery and Patisserie & Confectionery, Clare has worked in many areas of the catering industry, from hotels and restaurants to corporate fine-dining.
After making birthday cakes for friends, Clare realised she had a talent for cake decoration and set up a blog to record her journey before establishing The Little Bear Cakery in 2011.
Since then, Clare has been turning heads with her quirky designs and is fast becoming East London’s alternative cake decorator. Clare’s own style incorporates her love of the 3 F’s….. feathers, flora and fauna, and she loves experimenting with different materials and textures as well as drawing inspiration from fashion, wedding and lifestyle trends.
Little Bear Cakery has been featured on many top wedding blogs including Love My Dress, Wedding Chicks, Bridal Musings, Rock My Wedding,Bespoke Bride and The Wedding Bazaar. Clare’s cakes have also been published in Perfect Wedding Magazine, Ultimate Wedding Magazine and Square Meal Weddings.
Clare was a regional finalist in the 2015 Wedding Industry Awards as well as attaining a gold star in the Great Taste Awards. She also made the final shortlist of 10 for Triumph’s Women in Making 2014.
Only the finest responsibly sourced ingredients are used in Little Bear Cakery products. Clare uses free-range eggs, Callebaut Belgian chocolate, real vanilla seeds scraped fresh from the pod as well as luxury preserves and curds.
