Today I am delighted to be sharing with you a few snippets of the real wedding of one of my lovely couples Lucy and Tom who had their reception at BMA House in May earlier this year. The couple opted for a coral and gold wedding theme and their day was beautifully captured by London based wedding photographer, Fiona Kelly.

Having seen a couple of my ruffles cakes on my website, L & T had a good idea of what type of wedding cake they were after so the design process was very straight forward.

The colour scheme of coral and gold was the main focus for the cake decor with ombré ruffles for the bottom tier and handpiped graduated polka dot detailing brushed with gold for the top two tiers. The cake was then finished with a single statement handcrafted peony sugar flower to tie in with the wedding flowers.

The stunning floral arrangements were created by Naomi of Naomi Joy Floral Design. I love the combination of the greens, whites, pale peaches and dusky pinks with the bright coral peonies and blushing hypericum berries.

L & T clearly put a lot of thought into the little details such as “on theme” extras for the guests to get creative with when signing the guest book and little love heart treats.

They also weren’t afraid to get stuck in with a bit of DIY with Lucy creating the table plan herself with a big piece of card and gold glitter paper bought from Paperchase as well as the homemade glitter table numbers inspired by this post on Rock My Wedding – so simple yet effective don’t you think?

Huge thanks to Lucy and Tom for letting me share a little piece of their special day on the blog. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of your wedding and I wish you both all the very best for the future.

Another special mention and thanks to Fiona Kelly for sharing her beautiful images with me. I have been an admirer of her work for a while so it is always wonderful to work on a wedding with such a talented lady. She describes her work as “Photography that offers a little bit of elegance, some understated romance, a lot of fun and a relaxed approach.” If that sounds up your street, then I urge you to have a browse through her stunning portfolio here.
