Naked Chocolate Wedding Cake

Wedding season has officially begun here at LBC and I’m excited to share with you this naked chocolate wedding cake from last week. I delivered and set it up at the stunning venue Leez Priory in Essex.

The couple were inspired by a previous naked chocolate cake which I created a few years ago. They opted for beautiful vintage look roses and gysophila from Lily & May as well as the cute little bird toppers from Diana Parkhouse which I have used on several wedding cakes before.

The couple chose flavours from my cake menu which I then customised for them to suit their tastes and overall look.

From top to bottom they had “Banana Choc Chip” with vanilla bean cream cheese icing, “Chocolate Orange” with Cointreau, hidden Belgian chocolate ganache and orange buttercream and “Belgian Chocolate” with hidden Belgian chocolate ganache and vanilla bean cream cheese icing.

Boho Cakes

We still love the trend for boho cakes here at Little Bear HQ especially as it gives an excuse to get out the feathers! At the beginning of the month I created two feathered cake creations – one for a lovely friend of mine, Sarah the Flower Bird‘s daughter’s 18th and the second for a boho themed dessert table for a baby shower.

I really love this design – it’s ultimate boho elegance and would look equally at home at a country festival wedding as it would at a chic city celebration don’t you think? I certainly would have been happy to have something like this for my eighteenth birthday cake!

This baby shower dessert table has a very laid back boho feel. The guests feasted on a red velvet cake, vanilla meringue kisses, mini lemon meringue tarts, rasberry macarons, coconut brownies and cookie dough cake pops! Yum!

Don’t forget that we now offer fully styled dessert tables too in association with Westwood Design. We will be showcasing one of our collaborations at the upcoming A Most Curious Wedding Fair at The Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane on 6th-8th March.
